OSHA ITA coverage checker
Check whether your establishment likely needs to submit OSHA ITA data
Enter employee count and NAICS to get a directional filing result before you prepare a CSV. This is guidance only. OSHA's official Coverage Application is the final source.
Check likely ITA coverage
Use peak employment for the establishment during the previous calendar year. If you are filing for multiple establishments, check each one separately.
A 6-digit NAICS code is best. The checker also matches official 2-digit and 4-digit OSHA table prefixes where applicable.
Select employee count and enter a NAICS code
The checker needs peak establishment employment and a NAICS code to give a directional OSHA ITA result.
- Use peak employment for the establishment during the previous calendar year.
- OSHA applies electronic submission criteria at the establishment level, not the whole company level.
- For best results, enter a 6-digit NAICS code.
How to read the result
Coverage comes before validation
1. Check coverage
Find out whether the establishment likely has an electronic ITA filing obligation.
2. Confirm with OSHA
Use OSHA's official Coverage Application before making a filing decision.
3. Validate the file
If you need to file, upload your CSV/XLSX and fix errors before OSHA upload.
Required to file? Check the CSV before OSHA does.
ITA Ready validates OSHA 300A, 300, and 301 files for required fields, formatting, leading zeroes, math checks, and common ITA rejection causes.
