Frequently Asked Questions
What ITA Ready checks, what files it supports, what's free, and what happens after validation.
What file types can I upload?
ITA Ready supports OSHA filing files in .csv and .xlsx format. It is designed for OSHA 300A and 300/301 submission workflows. Older Excel formats like .xls and macro-enabled files like .xlsm are not supported.
What does ITA Ready check?
ITA Ready checks the kinds of issues that commonly block or break OSHA ITA uploads, including:
• Missing required fields
• Formatting problems like EIN, ZIP, NAICS, dates, and state codes
• Invalid numeric values
• Cross-field checks such as totals that do not match
• Common OSHA CSV structure problems
It explains issues in plain English so you can see what is wrong and what to review next.
Does ITA Ready submit to OSHA for me?
No. ITA Ready is a filing-prep tool. It helps you validate, fix, organize, and export OSHA filing data so it is ready for submission. You still submit through OSHA.
What is free vs paid?
Free preview lets you upload a file, validate it, and see errors and warnings.
Paid plans unlock the workflow: save a workspace, edit records, revalidate, keep filing history, and export a corrected file.
Which paid plan should I pick?
Single Company ($49 per filing season) is for filing for your own company. One EIN, unlimited establishments under it.
Consultant ($299 per year) is for filing for multiple client companies (different EINs). At 7+ clients, the annual plan pays for itself.
If you have many locations under one company, Single Company covers it — you don't need Consultant.
Do I need an account to use the validator?
No for the free preview. You can validate a file without logging in. An account is required when you want to save work, return later, and export corrected data.
Does it work for multiple establishments?
Yes. ITA Ready is built to help with multi-establishment filing workflows, especially for consultants and employers managing more than one location.
Can ITA Ready auto-fix anything for me?
Yes, for safe formatting issues. That includes leading zeroes, dashes in EIN or ZIP fields, extra whitespace, uppercase state codes, and some numeric formatting issues. It does not guess values that could change compliance meaning.
Is my data secure?
ITA Ready is designed to minimize raw file retention. For the paid workflow, raw uploads are temporary and are deleted after parsing. Saved work lives in the workspace as the data needed for editing, revalidation, and export. Corrected exports are generated on demand rather than stored permanently.
Does ITA Ready replace a full EHS platform?
No. ITA Ready is intentionally narrow. It focuses on the OSHA ITA submission prep workflow: upload, validate, fix, edit, save, and export.
Who is ITA Ready best for?
ITA Ready is best for:
• Safety and compliance consultants
• Fractional safety managers
• Multi-establishment employers
• Spreadsheet-based HR or safety teams that run into OSHA upload problems
It is less compelling for one-location employers who can easily use OSHA’s web form.
