ITA Ready

Which OSHA Submission Method Should You Use?

Use the web form for a small number of establishments, CSV for larger or repeatable filing work, and API only when a system already supports it.

Who this is for

Employers and consultants deciding how to submit OSHA ITA data.

The three OSHA ITA submission paths

OSHA describes three ways to submit data: manually enter data in web forms, upload a CSV file, or transmit data through an API.

  • Web form: simplest for a single or small number of establishments.
  • CSV upload: best when there are many establishments or detailed case rows.
  • API: best for automated recordkeeping systems, not one-off manual filing.

When CSV makes sense

CSV is the practical middle path when spreadsheet cleanup is still easier than manual portal entry, but you need validation before upload.

  • Multiple establishments in one filing cycle.
  • 300/301 case data with many rows.
  • Consultants filing for multiple clients.

Where ITAReady fits

ITAReady does not submit to OSHA. It checks and prepares your CSV/XLSX so you can upload cleaner data through the ITA.
